Our landscape has already been radically transformed during post-war land consolidation in favour of scaling-up agriculture. Soil properties no longer determine the choice of crops grown. How can we restore the balance between natural, agricultural and water systems?

Rows of trees, the hedge borders, ditches, pools and other landscape elements were removed to allow easy access for the latest agricultural machinery.
